sci + aliens

I was watch this show on the history channel with my boyfriend today and they were talking about how the ancients may have helped the people with sci and math. They had also found out that the ancients had forms of electricity in many different ways. I thought it was really cool.

I've heard about that. I fancy myself a skeptic, but it is true. There is little evidence they ever found a use for it, but ancient, like thousands of years old ancient batteries have been discovered. Simple, but electricity nonetheless. I'm not sure I believe in the stories about how this was given to them by aliens from the stars, but it is interesting to think about. And this also begs the question. What would they use such technology for? As a matter of fact, how would they even know of its existance? Without electronic technology, I am having trouble figuring at least that part out. It is possible. I don't believe it, but then again, greater minds than my own do. Also, since this is a forum on science and aliens, there are other questions. What about the building of the pyrimids? some of these things do suggest greater discussion. Oh, and I just figured out what they might've used the batteries for. Electro magnets. We know that they had a concept of loadstones, and they knew that iron could be magnetized, so...
Now, the question then becomes, how did they learn it? You already know my answer, I am a skeptic. (Said the man who authored a forum on the Supernatural) I believe it was just...deductive reasoning. But, what do you think? I do enjoy these topics.

well i also saw this show how they fouled the common people to make them believe in their god and such like one thing was the use meg. to make a chairet float to a statue and such maybe they used that to boast the power if that is even possible

what i think of this: ancient civilizations probably discovered that some elements can be used to do extraordinary things. they used these elements to cause events that seemed supernatural. they perhaps thought that these things were in fact acts of the supernatural. even those who used these things believed probably that their gods were acting through them. either that, or they decided, "hey, lets mess around and trick these f&^tards by making them believe we're chosen by the gods!"

I know, but do you think they actually found a way to use this electircty to does some more for every day life ?

thats a good question. i dunno. i dont think any1 knows yet. but we will know that answer someday.
